Health Risks of Poor Sleep
A snoring problem is not a simple one, especially since it can lead to life-threatening health issues. Just like air, water and food, we all need sleep in order to function and live a healthy life.
Day to day activities puts stress on your body and heart. It is only when you rest at night does your brain and body slow down and reserve energy for the next day. As a result of this, many things happen. Your blood pressure declines; you keep illnesses such as obesity, hypertension, memory loss, depression and diabetes at bay.
Poor sleep or lack of sleep can cause heart attacks, strokes, cardiovascular disease and in severe circumstances, death.
If you snore, it may be indicative of a more serious health issue: sleep apnea. Those who suffer from sleep apnea experience (and most often don’t realize it) an obstruction in their breathing airway that prevents them from getting oxygen regularly throughout the night. Sleep apnea is known to be a leading cause of heart disease.
