― Dr. Eric Grin

― Philosophy of care

Training that runs deeper than dentistry.

Dr. Eric Grin is a board-certified orofacial pain specialist at South Bay TMJ, Sleep, Headache & Orofacial Pain Institute in Torrance, CA. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of orofacial pain conditions, with a particular focus on interventional pain therapies.

Dr. Grin’s training goes beyond clinical dentistry. His Master of Science in Medical Physiology from Case Western Reserve University gives him a deep understanding of how pain works at a biological level. That foundation shapes how he thinks about diagnosis and treatment — he looks for the underlying mechanism, not just the symptom.

His approach is thorough and evidence-based. He takes time to explain each condition in plain language and involves patients in decisions about their care. He does not recommend treatment until he understands the root cause of a patient’s pain.

As clinical faculty at the UCLA School of Dentistry, Dr. Grin teaches orofacial pain to the next generation of specialists. That commitment to education reflects both his depth of knowledge and his belief that better-trained doctors mean better outcomes for patients.
